Pre-Calculus Fundamentals
JCSI math tutor Joseph D’Agostino can tutor your student in the following Pre-Calculus Fundamentals:
- Functions — Linear, Polynomial, Associated Graphs
- Functions — Quadratic, Exponential, Logarithmic
- Trigonometry — Identies, Periodic Functions, Applications
- Matrices — Determinants, Vectors, Matrix Solutions of Equations, Inequalities
- Sequences — Series, Probability
The list above is offered as a sample of topics and concepts based on the tutoring curriculum developed by JCSI Tutoring.
Most pre-calculus students are in high school and come to JCSI Tutoring with difficulty understanding trigonometric functions, radians vs. degree measurements, the unit circle, trigonometric identities, laws of sines, laws of cosines, conic sections (parabolas, ellipses, hyperbolas, circles, and polar coordinates). After one or more sessions with Joseph D’Agostino, students take away a new understanding of pre-calculus fundamentals. They can apply this knowledge to the concepts of limits and an introduction to calculus including the tangent line problem and limits at infinity and limits of sequence.
Additionally, the concept of matrices and determinants are explored at length including inverses and applications. Vectors and dot products are also covered.
